23/52 – Yummy

23/52 - Yummy

Baby, or rather, baby Sydney is the honouray 7th member of our family (two mommies, three kids, one dog, one baby doll, and I’m not going to count the fish, beetle larvae, worms or caterpillars as family members at this point in time).  More often than not baby joins us at the dinner table and requires a meal all of her own. This meal must be served in whatever the Doodle determines the baby’s bowl de jour to be, along with a knife, fork and spoon.

The Doodle dotes on her baby and lets her know about all the yummy food she is about to eat.  Because, of course, the food makes a very large arc that grazes the baby doll’s lips and circles right back into the Doodle’s mouth.

More often than not, the Doodle migrates from her chair onto my lap during the course of our evening meal. If I’m really lucky, I get to feed the toddler sitting on my lap, and baby Sydney with my other free hand 😉

But what’s most remarkable about this last little bit of time is the wide range of expressions that the Doodle once again adorns. She’s just so darn expressive, and while this photo doesn’t necessarily interpret “yummy”, I find that it’s absolutely delicious and scrumptious.

Here’s a few of the Doodle’s faces.

Feeding Baby
Feeding baby takes lots and lots of concentration.

Squishy Doodle
I love the full on squishy smile she makes.  Her eyes twinkle, her cheeks scrunch to make dimples appear, and her little nose wrinkles up.

Unsure
Toddlers are a maelstrom of strong, yet fleeting, emotion. One minute she’s overjoyed, and the next, well, I’m not quite sure what this expression is.

Playful

But it doesn’t really matter, because in moments, we’ll be back to something like this.

We’re just happy she’s starting to have some. This kid loves hair clips, head bands, hats and well any accessory, really. She calls ponytails and pigtails “ptails” which is pretty darn cute.

Priceless pics of all the expressions!
