4/52 – A Different Perspective

3/52 - A Different Perspective

The Doodle is obsessed with babies.  She looks at the baby siblings of her daycare playmates, she ogles stranger’s babies at the grocery store or park, she loves to look at pictures of babies in books, and she loves to watch the Babies documentary over and over and over again.  A few of the daycare moms are pregnant and she’s come to understand that big tummies = baby.

It started off as a joke.  We asked her if there was a baby in Mommy’s tummy.  Then we asked her if there was a baby in Mama’s tummy.  Nope.  No baby.

Then we shoved a ball up our respective shirts and suddenly we were pregnant in the world according to the toddler.  Not one to be left out of all the fun, the Doodle insisted on having a baby as well.

Growing a baby, if only a ball baby, is seriously hard work!

This picture makes me laugh.  It’s a little bit of a different perspective on imaginary pregnancies in the toddler set.

The best part is birthing a ball baby. You just smack it and it pops out of the bottom of your shirt.  “All done,” the Doodle says, which is quickly followed by, “More.”  And just like that she’s pregnant again. If only it were that easy 😉

this is great. as we begin talking about roxy’s “belly mother,” we realize she doesn’t have a clue what i’m talking about so a demonstration may be in order!

He he he. Let me know how it goes! Also, any other Roxy activities you’d like to share would be awesome. I’m always looking for things to do with the Doodle.
