Laughter and Light

December 15, 2011

Near the middle of the top of the long list of things I love and admire about my Wifey is her ability to play.  Even though she is quite a practical person and very task-oriented, she never lost the ability to whip up imaginative games to play with kids, to laugh alongside them, and to be completely in the moments they share together.

While we share the responsibility of caring of our kids, bathtime is solely Wifey’s responsibility.  It’s supposed to be the 10 minutes that mark the beginning of the baby’s bedtime routine.  It’s a time to wind down and begin to get sleepy.  Only it’s likely the least calming 10 minutes of the baby’s day.  All I hear echoing throughout the house is screaming peels of laughter and shrieks of delight.  There’s nothing sweeter than that sound to end off your day.

I’m s bad at being playful and goofy with the kids. I guess I’m too serious.
