Four months of charting. Seventeen OPK sticks. Two months of conversations followed by one weekend of negotiations to hash out a donor contract. Two doctor’s visits. Three inseminations over four days. One faintly positive home pregnancy test. This means that at 12 dpo we’re tentatively pregnant!

In Brief

The ongoing life chronicles of one queer family cohabiting in an urban nest. The cast of characters includes:
• Two matriarchs, Gus and Otto. The former is the author of this unauthorized familial history.
• Three kidlets. A 16-year-old daughter called Bella and a 14-year-old son called Bubaloo. We adopted this sibling pair in 2007. A baby girl, we call the Doodle, born in 2011.
• One dog. A fearful, yet gentle, rescue pup.
